Bajaj's New Look - PGN Supports 18th Asian Games

An auto rickshaw called Bajaj was very famous in Jakarta back in 90's. When you ride this tricycle vehicles, you'll eventually find facts that Bajaj are actually very agile and powerful. It sure can do dangerous maneuver in this Jakarta's crazy traffic and also gives some shock therapy by its strong motor shake.

From time to time, Bajaj popularity plunged down because of the competition to other transportation mode and also the awareness of pollution against health environment is growing rapidly. The combustion residual coming from Bajaj's engine are dangerous to our health, it produces a lot of smokes contain carbon monoxide and other stuff which polluting our air. While other transportation mode are getting better by changing its fuel from gasoline to natural methane gas, Bajaj drivers found it difficult to compete.

Jakarta's Government and PGN (Perusahaan Gas Negara) joint together to migrate Bajaj from being gasoline user into natural gas user. PGN provide the gas station and the distribution it self while the government make regulation to support this program. I believe this program which started back in 2006 is meant to be lessen the air pollution because natural gas is well known as eco friendly fuel compare to gasoline. This Bajaj BBG (Bajaj that fueled by natural gas) program also applied in other area like Palembang.

In the 18th Asian Games that'll held in Jakarta and Palembang, Bajaj BBG also take part as a media to promote and to show the passion toward this big event. Apparently PGN has already declared their support into this succession of Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games 2018 in next August. PGN with their branding strategy through these Bajaj BBG will promote the three mascots of this Asian Games. Bajaj BBG will be decorated like each mascot, Bhin Bhin the bird of paradise, Atung the bawean deer and Kaka the rhino. Actually, there are much more supports from PGN but this Bajaj things really catch my attention. Hopefully this Bajaj mascot branding could give an interesting experience for those people from 45 countries, our guest who'll participate the event.

Well, actually I still didn't have the opportunity to experience riding these decorated Bajaj and make a video about it, but i still have this video of mine also talking about Bajaj...Please...
